4:44 was Jay again doing what Jay does. It's not trend hopping when people perceive what he was doing as "conscious". All Jay did was make his version (a watered down version) of a Nas album. With Nas, you're getting poignant observations and commentary with some depth. Jay is just giving you the surface level, which is why it was superficial.
As for the last part, all I was saying I can't knock his hustle. That's all on him and if people choose to believe what he's pitching, that's on them as well. Why are you offended of my opinion?
