Yea I citing ducktales. Aint a full blooded cracker alive look like that
you know whatt, you right about that
As the saying goes...
Out of sight, out of mind...
A lot of white people aren't exposed to other cultures because they don't have to be exposed to other cultures..
They are members of a dominant society and culture that pretty much dominates all facets of human activity..
If a white person is immersed in an all white enclave, then it doesn't surprise me if some are oblivious to those outside their enclave, unless they move to an area, city, state or country that is culturally and ethnically diverse.
Furthermore, do you or anyone who isn't white really expect white folks to teach their kids about other cultures when they don't know about other cultures themselves?
I am not sure if the woman featured in this topic was trying to be offensive with her statement, but I could somewhat understand her point given that her mother kept said woman's true identity a secret...
At the end of the day, the woman may be biracial, but she isn't a brehette! Never will be, at least in my eyes...
Yep...
Local African-American groups often invite him to speak during Black History Month and on other occasions, viewing Tirico as a prominent example of a successful black professional. He doesn’t mind speaking, Tirico tells them, but he also lets them know a fact of his life: He’s not sure he’s black. “When people go around and say, ‘You are black’ – well, I don’t encourage it, but by the same token I don’t back off of it,” he says. “If you want to call me that, that’s fine. But, you know, in my whole family, there’s nobody I know who is black.”
Raised in Queens Michael Todd Tirico grew up in a middle-class Italian family in Queens, about a five-minute drive from Shea Stadium. Tirico’s parents, Donald and Maria, were separated when he was about 4, and he says he has since lost contact with his father’s side of the family.
Tirico is an only child. Because of his dark skin and ethnic features, Tirico says, most people assume he is black. But he’s seen pictures of his father, his father’s mother and his father’s sister – all of whom are white, Tirico says. “The only contact I had growing up was with my mom’s side of the family. And they are all as white as the refrigerator I’m standing in front of right now,” Tirico says … Someday, he says, he plans to do genealogical research to find out if he has a black ancestor, but it’s not something he considers a pressing issue.
That's still no excuse... right in grade school you learn that the earth isn't flat. Global studies & history they start stamping in your head about other people .. do white people think they are the only ones in the entire planet?! How is ANYONE that ignorant?!
this just means youre a different flavor cac as in curry cac, taco cac, shrimp fried cac etc. but either way you aint black. punk azz bytch.
I mean.... truth be told... you probably the white one in this conversation..... or a helluva lot closer to white than I’ll ever be... real shyt....
this just means youre a different flavor cac as in curry cac, taco cac, shrimp fried cac etc. but either way you aint black. punk azz bytch.

Only Ados claim them..let's be honest now.
Breh, it isn't about excuses. It IS about shyt being what it is!!! If that woman's parents thought that it was important enough to learn about other cultures, then said woman would not have made that statement.
There are people in the world who is only concerned about themselves. fukk everybody else! It isn't just white people either.
I know that some to many Hispanic immigrants who have no interest learning English and pretty much stay within their own neighborhoods. I could say that it makes no sense to live in another country and not learn the language of that country, but if there is enough people who speaks their native tongue, then why should they learn a new language?
You have to take into account that there are people who aren't interested in learning about things that doesn't concern them....
I don't claim that bytch.
Like I said there shouldn't be any excuse tho to be THAT ignorant of others and the world... Even if your in that white ecosystem. It's sad...
