Funny thing is, they threw in just enough Japanese that Americans may know some of the words.

For example: Saying Japanese instead of Nihon (although they forgot a second later.

Also, Kana is from Osaka. They use Aho instead of Baka. But the word baka is more known to Americans.

I find some Kansai humor corny, but this worked. Kana is working that Japanese hick stereotype.
Doesn't she have a hard accent? Shinsuke always talked about not being to understand her :russ:
