He can’t overpower them all game, they’ve been sitting on his 4 seam fouling it off. Maldonado calling a pretty crappy game so far.
2 batters at 1-2 with no moving stuff. Verlander is most dangerous when he establishes his secondary pitches earlier in the game.
That being said he is locating the 4 seamer well, the ump isn’t giving us any corner calls

In the playoffs Verlander has gone up to 110 depending on what kind of run support he has. They’ve saved bullets in the gun his last 3 starts so he could easily air it out for games like this.
They aren’t on the same page, whenever my pitchers would shake me off is because they haven’t built up their confidence in a pitch I called. That’s fine for the 1st inning getting things going but in between the 1st & 2nd you have a long chat about strategy and pitch establishment even if it’s a throwaway pitch from 0-2/1-2 etc.
There must be something I’m missing though.

We were 5-2...actual play...not name droppong.....against the Stros this year for a reason.
Eh, Verlander needs about a 3 run lead before it’s game over. He’s been prone to the long ball as well, the Indians offense ain’t full of no bytches either.
