One of the problems with our country is we become a bunch of fear mongers and our lack of education has made us solve our problems in drastic and stupid ways

Who said anything about being disarmed. Im talking about assault rifles. You can protect yourself and your property without an assault rifle and high capacity magazines.

The founding fathers wrote that 2nd amendment for citizens to protect themselves against the government. I think we are well past the point where citizens need to seriously arm themselves against a hostile government takeover. And if the government wanted to take your shyt you and your assault rifle wouldnt mean a damn thing against what our military has.

Many people dont look at things on a step by step basis. They see taking guns away as a slippery slope. You see it as just assault rifles but many people feel like if they go after assault weapons then all guns arent far off.

Those same people will still get those same weapons on the black market y'all need to reevaluate your security and your people's mental health and stop trying to find simple solutions by making guns your scapegoats.

So because you can buy something on the black market it should be legally available on every street?

Nobody is saying getting rid of those weapons will solve the problem on its own. I just dont see the reason someone should have a 100 round magazine. You dont use that for hunting, you surely dont need it for personal protection, so what do you need it for? What purpose does an assault rifle serve for the average citizen that wouldnt be better met by a handgun, hunting rifle, or shotgun?
