Because people with severed median nerves and broken clavicles can shoot guns.
Because, even as they found no gunpowder residue or fingerprints implicating her in shooting any of the guns on the scene, she still murdered someone.
I'm not one to confidently say anything from legal cases like this (the point of a legal case is to prove that a certain narrative is "true" above another narrative, not to prove that something actually happened regarding the events in question), but I can pretty confidently say that Assata Shakur killed nobody, and was, at best, guilty of illegal possession of a firearm.
The fact that people still believe that she did it in the face of all of the evidence is ridiculous to me. The entirety of the cases against Assata Shakur collectively constitute one of the biggest farces in American history, none more so than that murder trial.
Between this and murdering Fred Hampton the U.S. govt got no room to tell another country how to treat its citizens.
