i'm part asian, so anytime a rapper took a snipe at asians (was pretty common back in the day), it stood out to me...everyone from Das Efx to 2pac did it.
but i understood it came from bad race relations & there were different contexts....when brand nubian talked about hanging out with 'chinks' in japan on their song w/ dj honda, that was ok to me. i dont want them to be pc & edit that out...when Monch talked about a store owner following him around in 'maintain', that was a legit topic & it was done w/ intelligence.....
but then there were songs like 3rd Eye - Ease Up which had the lyrics "while you was nickel and dimin'/i was doing time for robbing mr chink"...that was a lil too ignorant for me, but rap isn't supposed to be couth....its like larry david said, no hugs & no learning makes good comedy....and its kinda the same thing w/ rap music..
technically these azns are right, but their response doesn't really achieve anything....and they look like square, uptight losers
and btw, most of these ignorant rap songs end up irrelevant & sound like shyt years later.....like The Convicts- Illegal Aliens...where they trashed Mexicans, Nigerians, Iranians, etc
