This is something I've lately been getting a kick out of when it comes to feminism and when I say feminism, I mean specifically white women. Their talking points often include complaints about straight white men which to me comes off as one of two things. One, they've just appropriated and modified the legitimate complaints of actual minorities (sorry, white women don't qualify as minorities to me) to suit their own agenda. Or two, they figure by mentioning straight white males, it serves as a sort of invite for actual minorities to support them and legitimize their movement. Example being Patricia Arquette's poorly worded speech on pay equality.
Lets see here, Black militants considered Rock's performance "c00nish", Asians/Latinos felt it wasnt inclusive enough, white conservatives considered it "racist against whites", and white liberals were made to feel uncomfortable by it.
