jeet kune do is more for advanced fighters who have incredible reflexes...i don't have enough real time sparring to even measure myself at that level...an acquantance of mine was on ultimate fighter and runs a bjj dojo...i may look into going once a week but i'm not fond of the ground stuff and i hate doing the drills for them but having a solid understanding of grappling with wing chun principles is a pretty good combo in my opinion
but without actually testing yourself in real time combat you would get your ass handed to you by anybody who trains in boxing or any mixed martial art if your just doing drills
you know who's entertaining and informative mr wong on youtube dude is hillarious check him out
lol, I checked him out before.. he's funny ... But really.. the problem with wing chun isn't the not testing ur skills... it's just that you have to learn things before u can do that. American's are too lazy and impatient for that, but if u do then you will be able to fukk most people up... and the beauty of it
(especially for someone like you) it wont matter how strong a person seems or how skilled they seem you can still fukk them up.
People used to get killed from wing chun before modern times. You just have to have a good sifu and be willing to go through all the bs u need to do to get to takedown defenses and being able to shut down a boxer.
Plus people get the wrong impression of wing chun because of the internetss. If someone is good at bjj or boxing or something they fight allll the time and they post videos to show their strength and skill. Most skilled wing chun people are internalized and their strength isn't all in their muscles which makes them stronger. Plus wing chun doesn't do good in sports like ufc in shyt. You get into it to either learn how to kill people or to defend urself against larger opponents... so the people aren't going to be play fighting or doing sports w it.
jeet kun do is good... but it's does nothing for u if some is larger or tougher or big and drunk and a boxer.
