Even totally ignoring the vast difference in sales....BIG was the face of NY for a minute....literally credited by some people as "bringing NY back" when the West was dominating....you could erase Ross from history and the South's placement in the game would be exactly the same.

Don't get it twisted, Ross can spit. But he aint saying nothing that's the problem. His mafioso raps are all interchangeable and doesn't really hit home because he doesn't have an identity. There are exceptions to this of course. Songs like Ten Jesus Pieces are beautifully crafted (minus Stalley) and cannot be called trash.

HOWEVER, Biggie left his stamp on the game. Dropped back to back classics, classic features, mad quotables, had the streets and clubs on smash while STILL spitting fire and left the game by 24. I mean come on, Biggie's flow is well-renowned and had arguably one of the best rap voices that enveloped the beat.

Biggie was stupid with the flow. From the double-time on Notorious Thugs to the mellow fukk You tonight.

It's 100% the truth though. Ross is a B-list rapper. If you compare his "run" to the run of any of the guys from his region that I named....Wayne, TI, Jeezy, Luda, etc....he's easily the least selling, and least popular.

Likewise, Heltah Skeltah had fans, but wasn't on the same level as Nas, Wu, BIG, Jay, in their region.
