As big & successful an artist that Jason Derulo is, how come we rarely talk about him?

:ohhh: When I look at YouTube views numbers for Jason Derulo's music videos, I gotta ask would Jason Derulo be considered a bigger artist than Beyonce, Rihanna, The Weeknd, & Drake if Black Americans fucced with his music?

Yes. The difference between honestly Jason DeRulo and Rihanna is that we still somehow believe Rihanna makes R&B music whereas we completely dismiss DeRulo as just being a pop act (I guess we can attribute that to their marketing teams though)

 I remember reading some comment saying that Jason DeRulo makes music for Black men in interracial relationships

:dead: The irony about the fake outrage from a month or 2 ago about Bruno Mars being a culture vulture, is Black folks fukk with Bruno Mars more than they do Jason DeRulo.

Anyways, now that we're in the streaming era, DeRulo should send his older albums & singles to the RIAA to get them recertified like Chris Brown did last year. With his YouTube views, a lot of older albums & singles will be multi-platinum now.

Rihanna albums are whack af, but they usually have at least a couple "serious" joints. Go listen to a Jason Derulo album and tell me one song that has a different mood than the rest.

Same goes for Breezy and Weeknd, since they are being compared in here. There's no attempt from him or his label to produce meaningful music. The other 2 always have some of those on albums though, and even as singles...

You could have a serious joint and still be considered pop.

Where is Jason's version of these songs? All the shyt I've heard from him is upbeat, hype pop jams, so I look at him as an upbeat pop jam provider, and I listen to that shyt only 25% of the time, so what use is he in my library or list of artists I really fukk with?
