I'm mindblown by this. Now I only speak for the west side. But I'm impressed how safer it is to walk throughout this city at night compared to other cities that's deemed safer. I worked at night and catch public transportation and in the three years I worked at nigh I never been approached or bother while listening to my iPod or iPhone and I be having this shyt out. I can get with that. Nigguh's ain't on no petty thief shyt here. That's real shyt. U hate thieves with a passion. I respect them less than any othercriminals besides pedophiles. Even families members. I got a brother that I don't know well that was a stickup boy in DC area and now it's hard to even to walk through certain neighborhoods because that nigguh look like me and jokers lookin at me sideways.

Living in DC, it's the exact opposite. I done sense a robbery coming my way and had to stop to let dudes walk pass me. Same in Milwaukee. Chicago was the worst and that was just from visits here and there.

Only spots I be hearing about robberies in BMore are near campuses

In BMore? It's crazy I never felt this way about anywhere but BMore. I could tell shyt was different becaus I seen mad teenagers and other walking at night there in notorious neighborhoods. Ppl there get mad when I say this cuz they think I'm shytting on the city cuz I'm from the DC area. But I'm not. It's actually me showing appreciation. I tell them I'm lookin over my shoulders constantly in dc when I'm walking at night.

I think the hood gets a bad rep in general. If your not in the drug game, and not disrespectful, nothing in general will happen to you. I've felt more unsafe walking at night in the suburbs, but mainly out of fear some scary ass neighborhood watch might call police on me because i "look suspicious".

Baltimore doesnt have too many random street robberies because it's so small and the people are too interconnected for anonymity. Chances are anyone you rob will see you again and want revenge, so the petty thieves stick to property crimes like stealing from cars or stealing copper / scrap metal.

DC is not connected tho, people on the same street dont even know each other, while in baltimore everybody knows everybody cuz people typically stay in the same area forever. DC has way more people in and out of there so it gives jack boys anonimity. Chances are the person you rob on the street in DC lives in VA or MD. In Bmore, if you rob somebody, chances are they know someone who knows who did it. Plus in bmore, nikkas pack guns like schoolboys pack lunch. And nikkas walking on the street in bmore are usually broke. Everybody out there w/ any money has a car and drives even if its just to the corner store.

But that's cuz DC is way smaller than B-More. Howard students to this day still gettin plucked off by 640 nikkaz even with all the JOs and the increased fed presence, even the new influx of cacs couldn't stop it. But I agree, B-More nikkaz get an unfair rap they cool as shyt as long as it ain't about no money or work. Although I went to school with them so I never saw them in they hood.
