She's a very good actress but she is hurt by 2 things. She hasn't been in a really good movie in maybe a decade. She also kinda came out in the uncomfortable era between powerhouses like Julia Roberts and Demi Moore and younger actresses like Natalie Portman, ScarJo, Zoey DeSchanel, really attractive girls who happened to be good actresses.

Breh she broke out in like 85 in Dario argento's phenomena and acting opposite bowie in labyrith. By the time she had her rebirth with a beautiful mind she was competing with Kidman and blanchetts. Scarlett jo has never been seen as a credible actress like that same with Portman. Once they grew up they've just got roles based on their name. Zooey dechanel? Connelly never had to compete for roles with her she did a couple quirky romcoms here and there in the mid 00s then bounced to tv. She isn't a star because she's made unpopular choices with her roles like accepting dark water when she had momentum
