then Geraldo happened. Geraldo turned trash tv into must watch tv. Everybody had to play catch up. Morton Downey Jr. just upped the ante waaaay up, which made Geraldo look respectable. Everybody else who came afterward was biting off these four in some fashion.

Daytime TV was officially turned out from respectable to trash to the Media when Donahue did the Strippers stripping for Dad episode.


At least Oprah kept it classy, in comparison.

I'm sure some of it is but some not at least years ago. A barber I used to go to years ago was brought on the show by two different women for paternity tests. He was the father of one of the children but the other one wasn't. He used to show the tape to us at the barbershop. It was embarrassing but funny at the same time.
