Because tv quality was better back then, they can't be serious with this question
I'm doing a Spartacus rewatch right now and it's miles already of any show that is currently airing.
This is a great response comparing the original CW "Gossip Girl" series vs the HBO MAX remake series:
They not lying about the casting. All the females on the original series were attractive & looked the part. I never watched an episode of the remake, but seeing the cast in the commercials was a complete turn off.

Nah they were absolutely trying to be trendy. The issue is back then it feels like even our "trash" media still had a lot of obvious time, care and thought put into it.Uh. A lot of those shows from the 90s and 2000s have aged better. They were focused on telling a story as opposed to being trendy.

Feels like there just so little thought and care in most films and tv rn between shyt like rampant cgi and algorithm making creative decisions etc
