I hope we make it that long. The debt implosion is the next coming financial crisis. We're already seeing kids throw the finger to college.

Yeah 20yrs is being very very optimistic truthfully....2020s will be the decade of reckoning..

They're getting absolutely exploited, so I'm glad all of these schools are folding.
I hope every single investor loses out on their entire investment.

Its a shame the students at these schools have to get completely screwed though, apparently one of The Argosy schools is a law school :picard:

For-profit schools have no place in our country, and a drain on federal aid dollars, especially considering the disproportionate impact they have on veterans and students of colour, especially Black students.

It always seems like they have a bunch of single mothers, deep in debt, trying to pursue a useless degree in a dying field, as the faces of the closures :snoop:

why are people getting degrees in unsustainable fields like these?

WTF are you gonna do with art degree in this day and age?

I've come across a gang of people in my life who went to art schools, most of them end up slanging lattes :lolbron:

one breh I know is a really dope musician and producer and he's currently pursuing his masters at an art school in London :ehh:

but to be honest his music would be amazing whether he went to an art school or not, the skills are already there. I guess the formal recognition from an institution is part of the appeal? :yeshrug:

I also know a guy who's a really dope artist who supports his wife and 5 kids selling art at comic book conventions and he's never put out a comic book :ehh:
and he's eating pretty damn good, and didn't go to an art school

for every Ryan Coogler there's a grillion folks like my neighbor who went to a prestigious acting school in LA only to end up being an usher at Blazer games in his late twenties :francis:

but his dad is a retired lawyer with millions who bought him a condo and a nice car and breh never has to worry about money in his life, ever

dat priv :wow:

You would be surprised. I landed a contracting job with a company working for the Department of Defense not long after I got out of school. There's a lot of hidden jobs out there you don't know about until you're put in the position to see for yourself.

Fukk em, I was interviewed to be a Sys Admin there and was greeted with major:
:mjpls::mjpls::mjpls::mjpls:

You don't need an art or music program in 2019 since it is a field that is undergoing a massive shift for the worst. It is better to just take a couple of e-courses and use social media platforms to sell your work/services.

Too many Starbucks Drink Specialists knowing how to Photoshop out here...

For-profit schools are the absolute worst and I strongly suggest informing the youth to avoid these programs. They close and can lose accreditation, making your degree worth shyt even if you've been out of college for a while. Granted, that can be overcome with a strong work history in your field, but for those who aren't established and still a little green, you end up stuck in limbo.
