Kendrick has won a Pulitzer Prize and is the first solo rapper to headline a Super Bowl Halftime show. Those are literally two extremely prestigious honors that no other rapper has done before.

Super Bowl is out of discussion because NFL simply wouldn't allow rappers to headline a halftime show until they fukked up their image and hired Jay-Z to bring back the fans.

Why wasn't Kendrick or any other rapper headlining the show before 2020? I mean most of Kendrick's best music is pre-2020.

Dr. Dre is one of the most recognizable Hip Hop figures around the world, and only in 2022 did he finally get the Super Bowl nod to bring himself and his artists on stage.

Canibus can only blame himself. When he was sitting at the table with artists like Big Pun, DMX, Mos Def, etc. and he did that verse on LL and everyone was like "ohhhh", it was also his start of the downfall. The debut album was also possibly the worst flop in Hip Hop history.
