Aries is right about Obama.
Obama will ultimately go down as one of America's greatest presidents, especially after the comparative failures of bush and trump around his presidency. Apart from being the first African American president:
1) legalised gay marriage
2) introduced healthcare reforms that covered Americans than ever before
3) saved America from the greatest financial crisis since 2008 with quantitative easing
4) Pushed for more comprehensive measures to protect the environment with the Paris Agreement
5) increased social mobility
6) more comprehensive immigration assimilation programme that was inclusive
7) attempted to limit lobbying and revolving door politics
8) moderate approach to foreign policy that limited interventionalist shock and awe tactics
Honestly the guy was a pretty good president and you also have to take into consideration that he faced lots of strain from a republican congress and senate. Sure he could have been better but there really hasn't been a better president since LBJ.
He deals with a lot of awful criticism like he's "not masculine enough" - he was a professional to the utmost degree, brilliant orator and a genuine thoughtful president.
The real problem is the fact that America isn't a progressive nation.
