Here is the thing with her as well. Take it with a grain of salt, but I heard from someone who knows about this.
Jermaine Dupri was going to work with her on a album (at least do a few more songs), and he had Kehlani, Dvson, Ari down for some studio sessions at the same time. The biggest hit that came out of those sessions was "Pressure" by Ari. Keep in mind, its not only JD, its also Brian Michael Cox and Johnta Austin that comes with JD productions. Anyways, i heard she didn't want to promote the song on IG, she didn't want to acknowledge JD (who was posting about the song everyday) and was acting like she had so many hits, and JD never worked with her again. JD and his team treated her like family for the sessions and she acted like she was doing them a favor. Im not saying this is why she's been flopping recently, but it just shows you why she never really truly blew up. Like Kehlani, she's a bird, but she maintains good relationships and treats her fans well. She interacts with them on social media. Her shows stay sold out. She just had a show here last week that sold out within a few hours.
