I little follow up to the above interview. The same journalist that looked lost and distressed came out and said his biggest mistake was "not having the balls to tell Santiago Caputto's (Milei's chief of staff) to go fukk himself" :laff:

This man actively receives political advice from the spirit of his dead dog whom he claims to have first met in their respective incarnations of gladiator and lion in Ancient Rome and you are trying to parse his actions

I genuinely don’t understand why Milei would ruin his somewhat globally positive reputation over a crypto scam. Then again, I am no stranger to politicians disappointing me.

@nooriefyi
speedrun to controversy any%

@cacebucu
Keep in mind that just before becoming president he was involved in a different but also fraudulent scheme (CoinX)

Why would anyone check on Argentina

I hope this is some weird coincidence cause I had good hopes for Milei and liked his reforms so far.

We really dont need more world leaders doing Crypto rug pulls. Also that statement is wild to say

The funniest part of crypto is that the people who make money on rug pulls are just people who already have money, not even new people doing the scamming

Likely place for it

It's very funny and sad that the only reason this man is as popular as he is because he brought down inflation. It's basically destroying Argentina, but inflation was hated so much it has helped his popularity.

The policies of libertarian President Javier Milei have done much to stabilize Argentina's long turbulent economy. Its notoriously high inflation has cooled, its currency controls have been torn down and it has notched its first budget surplus in 14 years.

Did you ignore the rest of the article that detailed how public sector workers are going hungry, pensions are no longer covering basic needs, and nearly a third of the workforce is either unemployed or stuck in informal jobs with no protections? Celebrating how inflation might be coming down, while ignoring how wages have collapsed, and how poverty has spiked, completely misses the point of what economic policy is supposed to achieve.

He did not. Libertarians are not serious people.

"If you add all the temporary jobs that lack social security and are very low-paying, unemployment in Argentina is not just some 7%, but rises to 30%," said Agustín Salvia, a poverty expert at the Catholic University of Argentina.

:huhldup:

30% unemployment and people working full time in poverty - I'm sure the deregulated private sector will fix this there's a ton of motivation for them to do so:ehh:

Not at all... i just don't believe a painless recovery option was on the table for the country :manny:
Im all ears though, how could they have righted the ship whilst meeting every one's basic needs amidst hyperinflation
