A common Misconception, a good portion of black slaves once free gave themselves there own last names. Yes, are they English/ welsh /Scottish/ Celtic etc names but thats all they knew at the time. This is why you have a lot of black people with last names freeman.

This why black people need to read up on there own history and family history. So you won't parrot misinformation. Many black slaves named themselves once free. You end up changing a name that actually meant something and represented new beginning for your black ancestors.

my last name is German...it's not a slave name so I'm gucci....since the po white trash immigrant ancestor of mine married a black/native woman...and their son had children with a black woman...and their son continued...
Voila...
if your last name is german (which is white) and its not a slave name that means you're mixed, in which sense im not talking to you biracials, this is a thread about black people.

reading that a black man said 'his ancestors worked hard for a white mans surname' makes me feel sick breh.

black people on a whole really the only race that cherish the names of their oppressors, no other race does this.
Yep. I had multiple black people make fun of my african surname alot of times when i was younger. shyt was ridiculous.
