The cast may not be "gang members" but it still has the blackish formula where everything is about them being black. Cant just be people who happen to be black, they have to bring up themselves being black every 5 minutes.
Not true as the show has gone on. Plus it shows a lot of black culture you don’t see on TV. All of us ain’t out here slangin. Some of us are just trying to live, work, enjoy life, raise families etc.

This shyt is DEFINITELY getting cancelled but this season has been fantastic :heh:
There are jokes on here about the black experience that I'm shocked are on tv.
Yea this second season has had me rolling. I hope they can get on Netflix, HBO max or Hulu. The show has lots of potential

I have an peacock account, added this show to my stuff off the strength of this thread.

Saw a bit of an episode last night, fat girl became an Cat lady even though she's allergic to Cats :mjlol:

Didn't watch the entire episode as I assumed a show that airs on Friday nights can't be that good, but I might be wrong :lupe:

Thread reminds me of "The Neighborhood" with Cedric the Entertainer and Pam from Martin. Two iconic Black figures as characters on the show yet has no buzz in the Black Community :mjcry: Show has been on TV for five seasons now.

The Neighborhood is a funny ass show, and it's good seeing Cedric and Tichina getting those big network checks.

Yeah, breh. Son was mad annoying the first season. I see he's taken a bit of a step back in the episodes I've seen this season
I see what you mean now. They had an episode where he narrates it and shyt is whack.

He is a bad actor and comes off annoying for real.

Once they start moving you around it’s almost over, stories from the rock are cool, but giving us the watered down versions ain’t gon cut it, no one cares that you worked in a mall in high school nikkas want them wrestling and Miami stories that may get a sponsor pulled

Grand crew is cool, but black folks in La getting into shenanigans white style was only going to go so far, i wish it lasted longer

Grand Crew was cool but it definitely had the uppity nikka appeal. I guess that was the joke because those nikkas were so over the top trying their best to be "brunch". Also, those show where "Friends hang out" usually don't last that long.

True
Like Friends or Seinfeld :mjpls:
Those were one of one shows, it’s hard to regenerate just hang shows

Yeah between the two mentioned, I can only think of another two (and a possible) off the top of my head. Living Single, Martin, and New Girl. What's crazy is they all were on Fox. shyt, the only time I watch Fox now is on Saturday and Sunday during football season.
