To be fair, Modern Family started airing in 2009, after The Office became popular. That's the reason NBC rejected it because they already had enough single-camera shows.

Keep hearing how good this is. I saw an interview the dude who played in Everybody Hates Chris and he was saying how the show was an opportunity for him to play a layered black man and that peaked my interest

After the Office, I can’t fukk with these workplace/cam comedies anymore. They all feel the same with different characters.

I checked the pilot and got some laughs, but it’s a show that didn’t pull me in.
