Are we ready to admit E-40 is everything yall try to convince us Jay Z is?

Even when talking about completely unrelated great rappers Jay-z is on your mind like you are apologizing to his for sinning :mjlol:

I’m a 5 star Hovenger and breh barely crosses my mind unless he’s dropping something which he rarely does nowadays :scust:

Considering his two sons (drakeo and dot) are running the west in life and death, I'd think not :beli:

Folks really don’t listen to 40? I feel like it’s certain artists that were really played by cousins. Him, Cbo, Devin the dude, too short, playa fly are some rappers I thought everyone did no matter the area

@Westbama Heartthrob why you don’t like Jay-Z lol

Most of his music just don't connect with me :yeshrug:

Dudes, especially on here, hype of his verses to hell and back. "Yooooo. The wordplay on this is crazy :gladbron: "

So I'm be like, "Damn, maybe I misjudged ol boy. Lemme check this track out :ohhh: "

And the shyt just some regular ass verse and wordplay :martin:

Nikka could go, "Powder on my lap, call it johnson and johnson, she ripe for that, I rifle that hard like johnson :steviej: "

and nikkas would act like he discovered life on Mars:why:

"Yooooo. That's a decuple entendre :gladbron: "

Jay is 2 behind Nas to me but I’m not gonna lie like he goes over heads all the time. Lupe is better with the metaphors and bars by miles to me.

I think Jay is the Tim Duncan of rap in a sense. He’s a master of the fundamental which is why i think some think he’s boring but the way he puts it all together is fire to the rest of us that notices

See I can respect this. You actually gave a reason and it makes sense :ehh:

I will say jay is a great shyttalker and has created some great flows. All my favorite rappers have referenced either a line or cadence multiple times, so I can see what you mean. Cause I appreciate what he does in a technical sense, but I guess I don't get the experience yall had in real time since I came up under those inspired by Jay z

Pretty much a "Seinfeld is unfunny" type of thing. I get more out of the works referencing it than it. Cause the hype just leads to disappointment :manny:

Lol how old do you think I am? We’re probably close to age. I was a kid when blueprint dropped my cousin tried to make me listen to it and I turned it off to play Fabolous.

It wasn’t until black album is when I first started listening to Hov then I started for RD and recognized greatness.

I'm 25. I assumed you were like 30 something :russ:

Growing up the only ny rappers I heard getting play by my big bro and older cousins were ja rule, g unit, fat joe, and dipset

Jay z was seen as corny. Even when i got older and sought out music on my own, his music wasnt my taste content wise. All rappers are some degree lf capitalist, but jay z was too in your face for me. Even though I know better now, i preferred a rapper like nas cause he seemed more radical and conscious

I aint hear about anybody from bama fukking with his music till I got on here with brehs like @I'm Blackman. But if you put on some jay z not featuring kanye round my way, they finna cut that shyt off for you :russ:

This is why I don’t take Kendrick fans seriously, none of their opinions on rap are based in any sort of reality outside of their own
