depends on the character. the majority of batman, wolverine, daredevil etc are darker. The majority of Superman, Spiderman, etc are lighter. Plenty of content for whatever your preference is. You can even build a collection of erotic comics, or cheesy dime joke comics. Way too many options to broadly categorize it one way or another.

This. The 80's and 90's in marvel was fairly dark so I would say in the modern era yes. We've had two decades of heroes fighting heroes or heroes making mistakes.
