My hair is thinning and I’ll have a bald spot by the end of this year. Are there any hair products that truly help black men?:flabbynsick:

I’m trying to hold on as long as possible

Any of the below suggestions work? In the same boat...

Take biotin orally and apply Jamaican Black castor oil topically. Thank me later :ahh:

For mpb, this shyt actually work for us?

Everything I've read online suggests once mpb kicks in it's a wrap and it's genetic, but most of that shyt is written by and for white people. Maybe our hair reacts differently to alternative methods so I'm willing to give it a shot

Finasteride and/or Minoxidil.

Google it. Pros and con for each one, but they’ll help you keep your hair.

Finasteride (Propecia) stops the DHT from killing the hair follicle allowing the hair to continue growing.

Minoxidil (Rogaine) stimulates the growth of hair.

OP, I’ve used both and here’s my take. I took Minoxidil to stimulate the growth of my beard and in a year and a half I went from not having a beard to having a full on beard. 2 years after that...my hair started to thin in the front...destroying my hairline and I started taking propecia. It works but the problem is that you have to keep taking it. The second you stop taking it, you’ll start to see the hair fall out again. I stopped taking propecia because I dont like taking pills if I dont have to...I’m not gonna be on a life long pill just to keep my hairline.

I can't speak for biotin but the black castor oil does work. Problem is you have to remember to do it EVERY day. I was off and on with it and I saw some improvement, but I'm not built for a lifetime of maintenance like that.

Plus I look better bald anyway so I wasn't really pressed.

The most common type of hair loss in men is male pattern baldness. It is hereditary, no amount of vitamins and minerals is going to reverse the hair loss.

You can get minoxidil for the low for like 10 bucks at Walmart or Target. You can get the propecia at Hims for like 20 bucks...thats where I got it. They sell it in 3 months supplies.

you have to mix it with other oils (coconut, black seed, olive, argon, ect) for it to be more effective.

I normally use the combination every few days and conditioner in between.

and who the hell said they wash their hair everyday, that’s horrible advice.

zinc deficiency also causes thinning hair.
