Are there any movies that you've seen that changed after seeing it in 4k?

what's controversial about it I just ordered the new steelbook
They scrubbed all the grain out. They look like wax figures. I own it still because lionsgate movies are the cheapest 4k out there.

I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark on a HD TV. It was straight Sci Fi channel status. Can only imagine how bad it would be in 4k.

Nah breh T2 is a reviled 4k transfer. Looks like wax. No grain. And fury road was controversial.
I’ll take your nah and double it. It’s gorgeous. Again. Depends on your set up. And mad max is gorgeous as well. Completely wrong I’m sorry. I dunno if you got an entry level 4K tv that cost 599 on Black Friday. No hate Bc most ppl don’t notice the diff. But there is

now I agree here with majority of older movies transfer to 4K being dog poo. And that is true. Only so much you can do to help older film look digitized. Which is why I typically refrain from purchasing older films remastered in 4K Bc most of the time this is the reaction.

T2 is not one of these cases however.

I thought in order for 4K to work your cable provider has to send signal for it to truely work on a 4K tv

that is if you are watching cable tv. Which has practically NOTHING IN 4K. for now

so I work in a high end audio video retail commission store and install equipment. true native 4K best way possible is physical disc copy. With a strong 4kplayer (not the cheap stuff) and of course decent to high end 4K television

Netflix probably has the most content available but it’s still streaming. It’s like comparing Mp3 music to vinyl. Sure to the regular Joe it sounds fine but for true audiophiles it’s trash. Same for quality movie heads.

to each they own

Breh i spent a fukk ton on my setup. I live on the bluray forums so you're in the minority. A movie from the early 90s isn't supposed to look smooth and modern. You're supposed to see dat grain.

Ok
So here’s where the separation comes

if you are into the grainy vintage retro 90s true film style then of course you won’t enjoy seeing the “polished” new version.
And for what it’s worth I completely agree with you. I still enjoy plenty of those old vintage film style movies that the new films can’t ever match.
Unfortunately many ppl today want that avengers/Disney/super crisp polished clean 4K high end LOOK

and T2 in 4K looks just like that. Incredibly for a 1991 film. Cameron actually played a big part in making this happen.

I feel you on the grainy effect. I do
But we’re in the minority together there brotha
Most ppl and even myself to an extent, want the latter it’s just the way it is
