They been feeding Dwight all season. Dude just constantly gets stripped and/or doesn't move like he should.

I think it's actually more about Kobe doing what he's supposed to do defensively. Dwight looks most annoyed when blown defensive rotations happen. When the defense is clicking THAT's when Dwight seems most engaged.

Simply dumping the ball to Dwight in the post is actually worse than Kobe constantly going Iso. Dwight is most effect rolling to the basket.

Dwight was 9-11 against Cleveland, with one of those misses being a desperation 3, so really 9-10. That's a stat line of a man who needs more touches IMO. Last night he was 14-18. These are ridiculous percentages.

I can't tell you how many times the Lakers lost, I'd peep the boxscore and Dwight would be 4-7, Pau would be 2-6 and Kobe took 30 shots. :comeon:

The biggest problem with that is Kobe at his best means the Lakers at their worst. Only twice in 17 years has Kobe had a unbelievable individual season and the Lakers had a lot of team success. That would be his MVP season in 07-08 and their 2nd chip w/ Shaq in 00-01. Those are the only 2 years he played lights out and they went far. He's played lights out and they got bounced in the 1st round a couple of times. And they've gone far with him simply playing "great" but not necessarily at an MVP level many times as well.

But Kobe playing at an MVP level and the Lakers going far is just not the norm. Sorry. :yeshrug:

Touches and shot attempts are two different things.

Dwight has gotten plenty of touches throughout the season.

They dump it to him in the post and he'll either kick it back out to a shooter or try one of his awkward ass post moves and either get stripped (because he doesn't always keep the ball up high), get fouled (and miss the free throws), and occasionally he'll score.

Dwight constantly posting up is NOT going to work. Even last night the bulk of his scoring was from lobs, putbacks, or him being fed when he was almost directly under the basket.

*edit*

and let me be clear in what i'm saying. Dwight definitely needs to be a scoring threat for this team to win, but he's without a doubt been getting touches all season long, it just a matter of HOW he gets them. If he's moving and catching lobs he's fine but if he's simply not skilled enough to just dump it to him in the post and expect him to score on his man.

Well I'm not even gonna pretend like I watch every Laker game. I'm on the east coast and them nikkas just play too late for me.

But the trend I've noticed is when Kobe's shots are down, that's when the Lakers tend to win. And these past 2 games, when they've actually looked like a playoff team, Dwight happened to get off both nights.

The situation reminds me of LeBron going to MIA where Wade was already established. The minute Bron said "South Beach" I never viewed the Heat as Wade's team again. It baffled me how some people still thought that and it baffled me even more that it took the Heat a year and a half to realize the obviousness of the situation.

Dwight is the Lakers most valuable asset. It's time they start acting like it, especially after this despicable start.

Nah it aint as simple as that....

There have definitely been games this season when Kobe has just been looking to score and froze everybody else out.

There have been more games though where Kobe basically has to score to keep the game even remotely close. I already pointed out how Dwight just posting up doesn't work consistently but then you got everybody else either missing wide open shots or passing up good shots.

Even in those games where Kobe is doing the bulk of the scoring though the Lakers have been able to get close to or break 100 points. the problem has been the piss poor defense and a LOT of that has been Kobe's fault.
