the middle east is far more "chaste" than western society is currently and EVER has been. mostly because they actually try their hardest to the adhere to the principles of Islam which REJECTS most "liberal ideaology" that the west promotes. they also ostracize those who don't adhere (postitues...homesexuals etc) thus keeping those negative behaviors deeply underground and taboo. in my opinion that REJECTION of liberal idealogy actually makes the mid east a better place to raise kids\have a family is you have the money to live nicely there.

and obviously i'm not talking about exteme taliban islam and it's once oppessive nature in places like Afghanistan.

I been to Saudi and many other countries in the Middle east. Did you know that :

1. Women cannot leave the house unless accompanied by a male relative or spouse PERIOD. No grocery shopping nothing.

2. They must wear full burka and head covering at all times in the oppressive 100 degree heat.

3. There are religious police that drive around and enforce these laws.

4. They once let an all girls school burn down because the women were not properly dressed

Also, the Middle East nations are almost all oppressive monarchies which propagate open racism. My aunt and her husband have been living in Jeddah for over 18 years legally, they even own a business. They still can't get a Visa or cannot be considered for citizenship. They can't even go to Riyadh, another major city, without being invited by a Saudi Citizen

One of my clients is mixed black and did high school in Kuwait(her dad is military) from what she's told me....you don't see the slackness you see in highscool here going on over there. you won't see girls scantily clad tatt'd up openly whoring it up...boys being verbally disrespecful to the girls calling them all kinds of "bytches and hoes". matter of fact you don't see that erosion of morality openly ANYWHERE over there. how is that a bad thing?
and how are the women over there any worse off consdiering what women over here have to deal with (degragation and objectification). it's just trading one kind of opression for another... it's basically pick your posion right? in that case:

being forced to wear a Hijab and being treated with respect by men >>>>>>> freedom to dress like a slut and live in a society where men openly speak to you and treat you like nothing more than "hole" to rest their dikks.

I think your confusing stereotype with real life. Men can not speak to you that way in any professional setting. School, work etc a man cannot violate you with his words in our society. Only on the internet and in public spaces which are almost always voluntary exchanges, are you subject to the opinions of perverted men. You would trade your right to liberty for a little bit more respect from men?
