That Vengeance 03 card

Eddy/Benoit alone is better than most of the cards on these modern brand split PPV cards

The talent is way better now than it was during the end of the Ruthless Aggression Era and into the PG era but 2003-2005 shyts on today.

After 2005 there was no more Angle basically, Lesnar gone, Goldberg gone, Eddie died, etc. the SD PPVs had guys like Kenzo, Heidenreich and Luther Reigns and Modecai in prominent roles. :hhh:

Rather see Heidenreich over a never-ending botcha banks vs Botchlotte hot potato the belt around feud

what storylines do the WWE do in 2017 and who are the mid to lower cards that are being booked well just out of interest

Better because it's more balanced. I can watch a card now and expect matches from the top to the bottom of the card to at least be pretty good. A LOT of those old cards during the brand split as I remember it were uneven as far as talent goes.

I think when people say the talent is better, they're talking about in-ring overall. Previous era rosters were more top heavy in the ring, especially RA. There's very few people on today's roster that you can put together and would have a bad match. The problem is, today's roster overall lacks character/charisma of back then. I'm very sure TJ Perkins and Tony Nese can put on an outstanding match....but I'd rather watch Big Show put Rey Mysterio on a stretcher and launch him into a turnbuckle. There was more investment in Billy Gunn vs Jamie Noble back then than this current Hardyz vs Cesaro/Sheamus feud.

All person preference I suppose. I watched a Kane/Rock match on YT other day from 2001, and that 10 minute match was better than most matches I've seen this year (in WWE), despite people saying the guys are better in the ring now and Kane/Rock not exactly being thought of as HBK/Guerrero. Back then they seemed to sell more, pace and time moves/moments better and know when to pop the crowd; these days it's just big spots for big spots sake and near falls spamming into oblivion.

We pretty much agree, I just meant from a technical standpoint. You can pair up a ton of dudes today and have a lot of at minimum 3 star matches, but at the same time, you wouldn't have that same investment in those characters as you had back then. Hell, I'm sure I'll end up re-watching Kane vs Rock just cause you mentioned it :pachaha:
