I like Ramit Sethi, dude gives simple practical advice and does a great job of shytting on the moral grandstanding that is way too prevalent in the personal finance space. The personal finance space veers to close to the just world fallacy mindset prevalent in the traditionalist YT space, and Ramit does a great job of shytting on cats like Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman who embidy that mindset.

His podcasts where he interviews couples is fuccing gold, he has a netflix series coming up that will blow him up even more.

spencer goes after the low hanging fruit. the black grifters are so obvious to white people that they can easily make a lot of content in a short time about how scammy they are. also,

Spencer is back again

Updating my post, a lot of the ”educator/expert“ style channels are CNBC, pro-corporate types masquerading as populists. So, you can't trust them in general either.

But, it's crazy how many people on YouTube are straight up just advertising.

If they're an influencer by nature you can't trust them. Now, financial gurus who are more focused on education that stock picks I can trust.
I've honestly thought about doing this. Being a black accountant is damn near unicorn status by itself but parlaying my skills/education/experience/credentials into something like this, to educate, might be fulfilling.

Boring Black People don't go viral.

Even the straight laced financial influencers - they start out with solid info (Graham Stevens)....but there's only so much you can say about making money, rainy day fund, stock investing, buying your first home. Before long you start talking about forex, financial scams, crypto, and usually news of the day. (Graham Stevens).

There the Plain Bagel
Investing and personal finance educational videos with a hint of economics, posted regularly. I'm a CFA and CFP professional working as an analyst for an investment management company in Ottawa. I'm a huge finance nerd and am passionate about the field - I think people lack the resources they need to make educated financial decisions, and hopefully this channel helps with that!

Breh this is sorely needed. There are way too many closet conservatives on YouTube. I‘ve unsubscribed from a few channels where the host let some republican rant slip.

not a lot of scamming going on there that I've seen and I pick up some useful skills and save money

that's because mechanical issues have clear causes and fixes. unless you're making crazy money there isn't much to being financially responsible. don't buy crazy shyt, max out 401k in low expense ratio index funds, try to keep 6-12 months of expenses liquid, rest in high yield savings account or a separate investment account in index funds. safe bets. change your investments over to a higher percentage of bonds as you get older. try to be low debt. anyone getting clicks on the internet is selling get rich schemes, while probably faking rich themselves and selling some 'course' you need to pay for to their viewers. Everytime some normal joe schmoe mentioned dave ramsay to me while I was in finance/lending made me want to vomit. it should be taught in schools and isn't rocket science.

once you venture past simple index fund investments you're in speculation and gambling, and should be playing with money you don't actually need, i.e. you're already rich. I haven't had super high salaries (yet) but I've saved considerably more than a lot of people I know. My dad was aghast when I told him how much was in my 401k because he kept switching careers and didn't really get settled until his mid-30s

Crazy how most economists and lawyers are right-leaning with the "greed is good" mindset. Only one that is truly fair and unbiased is Floyd Mayweather lawyer.
