I wouldn't go that far breh. There are several very dope remakes we've gotten since the 80s. Possibly longer but the only two prior to the 80s that immediately jumps out to me are the wizard of oz and ben hur
I should've specified from the 90s so far all of the remakes have been a letdown.

What about the Texas chainsaw remake? Friday the 13th? The Ring? Hills Have Eyes? Dawn of the Dead? Or the Savini Night of the Living Dead remake? I'm with you in that a lot of them have been flat as hell or uninspired but I feel like there are gems in there as well. I fukk with the hills have eyes remake more than the original

Underrated film. Comedy/horror angle worked and real spiders, movie had that late 80s comedy feel that was popular into the early 90s. I fear cgi would make it look hokey, and if they go full horror route, could be interesting but probably not for me, I hate spiders. :francis:
