Cena doing an AA and Theory kicking out of it takes all of 6 seconds.

If there was a bare minimum...Which the match seem to be about it... They somehow shot below it. It didn't make Theory look good. It only made Cena looked washed up.

If you wanted Theory to look good at Mania. Winning is irrelevant. It's about stealing the show and storytelling.

It was lackluster, because it simply was not because of some unfounded unrealistic hype. We been watching bald spot Cena for a minute. We didn't expect big match John to walk in there like it's 2015. At the same time... It was a real waste of a opportunity to do something better for Theory.

I don't know who produced this match because it felt like something from 1992 and it was disappointing.
I think it's fine. End of the day, it's all about Theory being able to say he beat Cena. He'll have other matches and opponents to try and steal the show with.

Theory got lapped by Logan and Dom tonight. Not entirely his fault but they're both closer to being what the company envisions/wants Theory to be.

West where the Sunsets
WWE piped in mad noise at the beginning of the show btw. Like a ridiculous amount.

People were still filing in, but the speakers were playing cheers. Made it sound like Cena got a crazy ass pop. He didn’t

They also piped in Seth song, but it caught on quick so they didn’t have to

Edit: anyone complaining about that match is a dikkhead by the way. Cena is a megastar in Hollywood. He’s not about to go all out and risk health trying to put on a “banger” get real. He did what he had to do
I thought the Seth part was cue to start it up. Ain’t no one in the crowd in an orchestra to know what the conductor was doing. :heh:

I feel star making performances go beyond just being able to say you beat a legend.

Let’s take something like Bret vs Stone Cold, Stone Cold lost that match, but it was a star making performance

Seth vs Brock vs Cena, Seth ate the pin, but we knew he deserved his spot after that.

Edge vs Mick Foley

K.O vs Cena

We knew Cena was going to lose anyway, but putting someone over isn’t just about the laying down for the 3 count

I was thinking just this after watching it. Going over was given for Theory, but this was NOT a star-making performance for him. You think about classic matches with upstarts like Rock vs. Brock, Taker vs. Orton, and even Cena's matches against HHH and Michaels and how they all certificated them as dudes that had next. We know Cena could do better, but he just didn't. I can only assume he legitimately doesn't think Theory is that guy. :picard:

Night 1 was solid all around IMO. The only blah matches IMO was Cena vs. Theory and Damage CNTL vs. Becky/Lita/Trish. Cena and Lita were looking very :flabbynsick:

Cena without his muscle mass and that bald spot on his head had me like :whoa:. And Lita just looked like she was going with the motions.

Trish tho :takedat:

The men’s tag team showcase match was surprisingly better than I expected. All of them got their shyt in and Street Profits going over was the right call.

Seth vs. Logan was solid. It was exactly what I expected and it delivered :obama:

Rey vs. Dom was great too just off those entrances :wow:. The match was great too even with Bad Bunny helping Rey win in the end planting seeds for Backlash..

Charlotte vs. Rhea is gonna go down as a classic. Charlotte saw she wasn’t gonna close the show and went full :demonic: Before this match, I felt Mercedes vs. KARIRI had the best woman match of the year at “Battle At The Valley.” After tonight that title goes to Rhea and Charlotte. That was some good ass shyt :wow:

Usos vs. KO/Sami was real cinema brehs :to: That my friends is how you pay off a story. Just :ohlawd:

Overall Night 1 gets a solid B+ to me.

Just looking at the card for Night 2…if 4 out of the 6 matches deliver…this WM might go down as an all timer. Maybe even right up there with WM X-7 as the one of the greatest of all time.

Appreciate this man :hhh:

He hasn’t given us a wack PPV since the TakeOver days…
