Social media companies have been tracking your searches and other habits for years but not outright scanning your phone. You also were not made aware that they were doing it.

No doubt, but they've always been in your shyt companies are just making it easier and honestly.. I cant believe I'm saying this but Trump made a great point when talking on this. He said straight up to Apple "How much stuff do we help you with, from taxes, to trade etc. We've probably given Apple BILLIONS in dollars (in tax breaks, subsidies etc) if the US tells them to jump their only answer should be how high in all honesty. Even though I 100% don't agree with this practice but as I said we already lost this fight decades ago. There's almost no going back.
