my daughter submerged my ipod touch last year in the bathtub (I had went to the door to check the mailbox) while it was still on. about 3 hours later it was working again, and I still was able to take it to apple to trade in that same day due to an unrelated issue with it not syncing with itunes properly.

damn i had no idea that the home button was an issue with the iphone. I got the reg 4, and the home button has been giving me problems for the last 2-3 weeks. I thought it was dirty or something, had no idea this was an issue with other cats.
- still love the 4 though, not sure if im ready to make the jump to galaxy joint yet because i've got too much stuff on itunes that is a headache to transfer

After spreading apple good will in the thread yesterday, I walk out the door this morning with my ipad in it's case and it dropped right on to my concrete steps. 
I know it's out of warranty, I'm just going to roll the dice and go in looking really sad. But realistically what have people paid to have these screens repaired ?

what if i wanna replace my iphone4 who doesnt work anymore (yet) and i doesnt have the receipt?
You don't need the recipt since you have to register before you can even use it they know when and who bought it.
Haven't had a problem with the button on my 3 but I probably don't use it as much as the next person.
