Anyway as far as the iPhone SE is concerned I think it's actually a solid upgrade to the iPhone 5S. A 4 inch phone that small and compact yet powerful is nice.

16GB at $299 and I would say ok, but for $400 nobody should have less than 32GB standard.
yeah, even the new ipad starts off at 32GB.

They still do the 16 for people who are heavy on streaming and cloud services. I have a 64gb and STILL don't have shyt on it exceeding 16gb. All my music is on Google Play streaming, all my photos and videos are in iCloud Photos, my documents in Google Doc/Sheets etc and I stream movies/tv instead of d/l it. For people like that, there is no need to pay premium for flash data. If they sold 32gb phones, it would make 64gb phones almost non existent and cut completely into their cloud services income. Less would buy the 16, none would buy the 64 and only people who want the biggest would get the 128gb. Having 16gb and skipping straight to 64 keeps all that intact as well. They know what they doing in that regard.
Yeah they saw that there is still a huge market for people who don't want larger phones. In the recent years past, the only way to get newer tech was to get a newer phone that unfortunately had turned into ScreenWars in relation to size and who had the bigger, better screen. Now that jas subsided and numbers have come back to manufacturers, they saw that the majority of people preferred 4.7-5in screens. Now remanufacturing said screens would cost money so they didnt really do anything about it but Sony dropped the z5 and got outsold and outranked by the Z5 Compact because the two were identical and differed only in size. I think Apple saw that, heard that so many people were displeased with the 6's design in comparison to the 5's design and still had 5 housings they could sell and it seems like a no brainer.
When I see people with big ass hones that dont have the large hands to handle them, I just shake my head because I know they only got it because it was new and not practical. If you can have both at a decent price, Its a good look. The 5s is just too small for me most times but the best phone iphone could make would be a 5 housing at 5in with 6s internals. That'd be something nice.

Not impressed at all, iPhone 6 is literally the goat form factor. It's just so nice brehs. That 5 hurts my hands and the screen is hella tiny. But small handed people should be happy to get the love.

Could never envision myself going back down to a 4". I use the iPhone 6 as my primary GPS unit and need the screen real estate.

No. It just means that Asia ain't gonna pay top dollar to get an iPhone, so they dropped a budget version for those 2billion + people. Watch them fukk around and make an 8GB version for the really underdeveloped countries at an even steeper discounted price.
