Weekend iPhone sales top 10 million

Apple says weekend sales of its new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones topped 10 million, a new internal record.
The company did not detail how much of the 10 million were attributed to the iPhone 6 Plus versus the iPhone 6, but Apple CEO Tim Cook says the launch shattered the previous sales record of 9 million held by last year's release of the iPhone 5s and 5c.
"Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn't be happier," said Cook in a statement Monday.
The 10 million milestone doesn't include one of the largest smartphone markets: China. A report earlier this month from The New York Times says Apple had to delay launching in China, potentially because the devices await government approval.
The new iPhones welcome larger screens to the mix, with the iPhone 6 featuring a 4.7-inch screen and the iPhone 6 Plus featuring a 5.5-inch display.
Based on pre-order shipment dates, it appears the 6 Plus has been more popular among consumers. According to several wireless carrier sites, wait times for iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders stretch from one to two months.

How did you unlock your phone? Did you do it through the carrier?
no im on tmobile making wifi calls

yea, i just put in a request on their website (AT&T)saturday , got an email that night telling me it was unlocked and that i could complete the process in 24 hours (had to back up and restore my phone).
thre are websites that do it but they charge.

I would figure with an S4 you could just root it and unlock it yourself.

these muthafukkas sold TEN MILLION iPhones in a weekend and some posters actually think the Nexus 6 and Note 4 have a chance of stealing "hype" away from Apple
I just requested an unlock from ATT on my 5s since I'll be selling it once the 6+ gets here. Got the confirmation email saying its unlocked within 5 minutes.
