I think Cena viewed the writing on the wall, in that his time had passed. He didn't need to be on WWE TV anymore, plus he didn't want to become like Hogan. Its clear Cena still likes to do family entertainment, so he dips into Hollywood and now is open to having kids because he is not on the road.
Its really, really hard to have a solid family structure on WWE's travel schedule.
