It would be interesting to know if SH had dropped a better album with Dre as the exec. produce vs. would Kendrick's album been notably worse than GKMC if Eminem had been the executive producer.

Then again, Kendrick was gonna tell his story this way, so I don't think Eminem would have hurt the creative process that much.

WTOH was maybe unfairly hated but come on now


first of all, GKMC had nothing as terrible as Throw That.

2nd, it had 1 (BONUS) song as average (or slightly better) as Coffin, My Life, Park It Sideways, Throw It Away, Place to Be & Walk Of Shame and that's mainly because of MJB's washed up performance, not because of Kendrick.

then there's maybe 7-8 good songs on WTOH, which are still in my rotation, some of em are better than the others but only 2-3 stand out in the long run

Take those 2-3 standout songs, add more cohesive sound and a story and you have something closer to GKMC.

Then caps it off by calling Laughterhouse's abomination of an album a top 5-10 album of the year.
