I agree that's because my parents did the sane when I was younger, I wasn't allowed to listen to profanity laced music and they would refrain from playing it around me, mostly.
My mom even complains about me playing loud music that has curse words now lmao. One time the lyric "Coke head suck ya mada" and she was complaining lmao
Kids are impressionable. That's why you hear these kids singing lyrics like surfboard, they may not know the meaning but i find it disgusting when I hear children singing it and their parents willingly allow them too.
I don't have kids but I listen to mostly dancehall so the use of words of "p*ssy, cocky, bumboclart, batty man, suck this etc" is very common and when my niece around I don't play it cuz she at that age where she's picking up everything she hears.
