Just seen this movie and was thoroughly disappointed, every prominent character (bar kerry washington's) outshone the lead. Yet QT envisioned that this movie would give blax a superhero that hadnt been seen on film? its never a good look when everyone that walks away from the film remembers dr scultz rather than django.
film didnt really feel like a western at all hell kill bill felt more like one tbh, there was barely any action and when there was its wasnt the usual imaginative way QT usually does it.And the biggest offense was the dialogue, django unchained just didnt have that taritinoesqe imprint.
When you match this against inglorious its not even fair, django was underwhelming as fuk and it wasnt helped by the idots who complained that it was too this and that before it was released
maybe its an age or race thing but whatever the reason y'all are really generous with praise
if that is suppose to be stood u damn rightSo Dr Scultz Sood Out More To You Then D'Jango Huh.....?
if that is suppose to be stood u damn right
that even makes it worse cuz QT positioned scultz and candie in the most pivotal and memorable roles knowing foxx/washington were the weaklinks acting wiseThe dude who play Schultz is probably 10x the actor that Jamie Foxx is though.

I am not even sure that sidney poitier and viola davis cud have changed things in foxx/washington role because on paper they are just underdeveloped and uninteresting not sure what QT was tryin to achieve. For years he's written dope black characters in ensembles but the one movie he has a black protagonist he's clueless? Just bizarrelets not forget how many nikkas turned down the role of django
jaime was like the 5th choice

in what sense? U don't think dr scultz and calvin candie were created with the intention that they'd be the standout characters u walk away from the movie remembering?Disagree about the roles. :rucksammy:
I didn't mean the character was clueless I meant QT on his characterisation for django. If that is the kind of black representation he thinks blacks desire he's a fukkin idiot. There is a reason audiences both black and white were watching like during django's scenes and when the happy couple reunite, it cuz the writing suckedI wouldn't say he was clueless but he was uneducated, especially in the beginning. But..... he was a slave.
The deeper in the story the more you see how much he learns, and how smart he becomes. Thus, when it was time to handle business he handled it.
I thought it was brilliant personally.
