Finally saw it. Dope movie, will take a little time before I can watch it again though like most of Tarantino's films.

No one does violence like Tarantino, seriously, if you want violence, go to an Italian to provide it for you.

I'm not black, and I saw the movie with an entirely white audience, and one of the first things I noticed was that if I was black, this movie at times would make me uncomfortable where you have whites around you laughing at points where "******" is used almost as a laughing piece. I understand that because I come from a minority as well. I have no doubt QT had no ill intentions, but he could have done that a bit better. Tough though.

QT did a great job overall, another great film to go to his great resume as he strives to be the goat. Jamie did good, I just wish we could have got Michael K. Williams to play that role though. Waltz did good. Samuel L Jackson and Leo stole the motherfukking show though....so different yet so similar. Their relationship was the most interesting in the film, QT hit it out of the park with that one. Leo the face, but Sam the mastermind behind Candieland, ironic.

di Caprio always gets compared to De Niro, simply because of the background and the relationship with Scorcese. De Niro has had countless menacing moments in film, and that's where di Caprio has been too far behind. He finally got his first one, where you could feel the (menacing) emotion. The scene where he cuts his hand (real blood)...he went off for a good couple of minutes. This movie elevated him a few levels.

CACs are going to do that when they are with each other. It was more racially mixed the times I went, so I didn't have that experience.

Goddamn this thread has did numbers since I saw this shyt on Christmas. Don't get me wrong i think Jaime did good as Django I'm the only person that thinks Michael Jai white would have killed the role as Django in this film.

Michael jai white would have definitely been better than Jamie in this role.

Real talk,...
Jamie is best in an impersonator role, of a historical figure.
Ala, ray,...
Or in a role similar to a foil to a legendary character like in Ali.
He works best where he can play off of legendary white actors.
Who have a long enough resume to carry him through his perception as a comedic to impersonator built actor.
Similar to the cruise film.
This film works just because Tarantino writes dialogue so well.
Plus knows how to use unlikely character actors in roles a little outside of their sweetspot and comfort zone.
Jamie floated well enough not to detract from this role.
Yet, I feel Michael jai white would have been a better cast.
Jamie works in this role because of the empathy you feel towards django as a character in the ordeal.
Yet, if the ordeal was not Tarantino written.
Jamie would have been exposed, something awful.
So a salute goes to Tarantino to pulling this off.

I just came back from seeing it.

- I had no problem with hearing nikka so much. In fact, I'd be more offended if they left it out altogether. The only one saying ****** that made me slightly uncomfortable was Leo. He sounded like he's been saying it all his life, it sounded too natural. He sounded like he'd been walking around set yelling "Get these off-brand nikkas out my trailer, please."

He was saying it TOO smooth. He was like "beat ass nikkaz" "Hildi is my nikka :myman:" "these nikkas are tough" all with fluidity.

Finally saw this over the weekend cuz I got my hands on a screener copy.

Movie was straight. I didn't have a problem with nikka being said so much, because the movie was almost 3 hrs so it's not like they crammed it in some 90 minute flick. It got stretched out, so I don't see what the big deal was.
The cinematography was dope. Movie was shot real well. The acting was cool, everybody did they thing.

My only gripe was there wasn't a lot of action save for the last 30 minutes of the movie. Film kinda dragged on at times as well. The way everybody I knew was talking up this flick, I expected to be blown away, but I wasn't. I was entertained and that was pretty much it. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it though. Out of 1-10, the movie was about a 7. Above average/good but nothing great.

"Jesus Christ Steve. What is the point of having a nikka that speaks German if you can't wheel em out when you got a German guest."
