But here's the thing, he could easily come back if he wanted revenge. Why do that and jeopardize all that work. Especially since "others" had to swallow their pride all the time. And you had to do it once and you "risk" it all.

He couldn't resist. That's white people for you, no matter how liberal.

White people don't use kike like that breh. They're just "fukkin' jews" to your average redneck. ****** is an everyday word for them when we aren't around.

as QT himself explained in an interview, schultz selfish self-righteousness got in the way. the very thing he told django NOT to do! he was forced to give candie was pass when he witnessed him sic the dogs on that runaway slave-fighter and watch the dogs tear that slave up to bits. he didn't want to subject himself to be lower than candie... he felt humiliated, and didn't give a fucck about the consequences of his actions and the whole reason they were there in the 1st place.

it exposes schultz to who he truly was. he was a flawed character like many white people who claim to MEAN well, but more detrimental for the cause and only doing it to gas themselves up as being "morally just".

dude was a control freak and was humilited by someone who outsmarted him. He couldn't let candy get away with that. Also once Candy showed that he had all the control he was getting heated by the second. Also once they got broomhildia there was no coming back without someone spoting him.

This is NOT Roots 2.

This was Inglorious b*stards for Black People. Django is a superhero of sorts, it felt great to see him take out the anger all the slaves had to suppress for fear of death of bigots, racists and slave owners.

The story told the truth about this:

There are good, great and bad people who are oppressed. There are good and and bad people that... wait :heh:

Nah oppressors are all bad, fukk EM.

Shultz was part of that crowd that could have chosen to be indifferent (The real danger in society) or actually not go on anymore knowing the oppressors living life with a smug look on their face...

I see people trying to make this tie-in but I feel there are major differences between how the "oppressors" were depicted in both pictures.

I felt Basterds was more of flipping the traditional role of good vs. evil as it's perceived through history by flipping the good guys and bad guys.

It was showing how propaganda and genocide are things that go both ways.

If you noticed most of the Germans were the most complex and interesting characters, whereas the Allies were bloodthirsty stereotypes. At times you found yourself sympathetic for the Germans outside of the context of what history tells us.

Because the reality was is the Second World War had very little to do with shyt like that. Soldiers weren't talking to each other like that and not to mention kike isn't a German word. It's a slur born in America. It wouldn't make sense in the context of the historical period for the German characters to use that word in their dialogue.

Think I'll wait til it comes out on DVD.

I thought about shunning it at first like most other black people who did a :rudy: at the concept of the movie itself, but I'll have an open mind and I'll look at it under my own devices. :manny:
