Glad you requested this......because I m kinda torn with this. The name that is.
Since I've written this up, I've wanted to change from melanoid to just plain black. Melanoid is too inclusive for me.
Which leads too: I'm thinking we should play "the game" correctly and not exclude membership from other races including whites
...Thing is, membership is centered around black progress and power. So sure Mr. Cac can join our Union and pay dues. Long as he realize he's supporting the above and will never be the leader or sit on the Board (or however we run this union).

It looks good on paper but its needed a whole change of the system before anything. Example, you say athletes and rappers would be penalized but we all know kids/teens will still support their "idols" no matter what. It means so called malanoids would need their own education system, political system, media, etc. Not trying to be negative but the system already contaminated the brain of most folks out there.

Nah, change it to just "Black". Cacs and non-Blacks will eventually destroy it.

Not gonna lie..when I read the thread the other day I wanted to say change the name. Not really a fan of using melanoid to represent us but I didn't want to be negative or anything.
Not sure about adding everybody though.
I didn't want to be negative about the name either, but Tariq Nasheed already has the Melanoid Nation Foundation. There could be some confusion.

Not negative, just realistic. It would be a monumental uphill movement which would be difficult and lonely for a while.
The hope is that it would catch enough steam and the positive members of our society could influence the rest.
No doubt it would have to be in the former of a movement with music being one of the platforms used.

Yeah I've fell back from the melanoid angle myself. It's too similar to "minority" where everyone will try to wiggle in.
In this atmosphere it's hard to not at least give everyone a toe in the door.
