 Damn, how does Brazil have the money & how were they so fortunate to have both the WC & Olympics in a 2yr span?
Brazil is one of the top economies in the world....their standard of living is just incredibly ass

Which is why when I go my ass is staying at the hotel and at the Olympic park

NOTHING ELSE.

This is Rio we're talking about. :shaq:

Ok, so you want to go during a time when there will be a massive increase of male visitors relative to any other time, guaranteed price spikes from travel and the service economy, and street scammers will be out in full force.

My ace & I was just talking about this the other day....we figure for the airfare, lodging & all the games we'd want to see - mostly medal games, it's going to cost about $5000 apiece

I'm seriously contemplating it I wanted to go to Vancouver and London but my money wasn't right. 4 years is awhile away who knows what will be happening in my life but I think i'm gonna go into the next 4 years with the mindset that i'm going so I start building the groundwork for it to be put into motion if I seriously went into Van or London with the attitude that I was gonna go and not just half ass it I probably would have went.

I'm considering going. I'm trying to figure out a budget for that shyt now.

The only thing is the events I wanna go to...them shyts is like $150 a pop for semi-decent tickets, and I wanna go to damn near all of the basketball, the gymnastics, the soccer, the swimming, track and field. That's like 2,000 on events alone.

dude its in 4 yrs...save up

Gonna go but if you're going just to experience the country and not for the games, any other time would be better. Like carnival or atleast go during their summer when it is the hottest.

During the Olympic month, it will be Brazils (Rio) coldest weather (still hot by American standards) and not as much people on the beach etc....

But just the overall experience during olympics would be crazy cause so many athletes, foreigners and panhandlers will be on the streets. It'll be unique but maybe not as fun.

I'd say worldcup>olympics. Brasilans go crazy over soccer so it will be a good time.

yeah, we started putting money aside on the 1st of the month

we figure 50/100 every month for the next 4 yrs will be a nice base to lodging & airfare

then whatever surplus we have will be carried over to the games

and then of couse we'd be saving money through our regular budget so we'd make it an official swipe vacation (max out credit card, don't look at the prices, worry about it when you get home)

right now its like 6 of us going....already told shorty I'm going so she knows what it is....

Yeah, my boy is married with 2 kids. He already told his wife she wasn't going to go, he said he's going to make up for it by taking her to carnival out there one year.

Now....how he acts in Rio while we're there, mum's the word lol
