you should've started interning when you was still in school. An accounting degree alone won't get you far. Experience, whether part time or internships go a long way.
True...that's the only drawback. I had a full-time construction gig when I was in school so there was no time for internships. I did work at a tax office during tax season but I don't think that'll cut it.

Graduating early next month with a BBA accounting. Already got an offer lined up that I start in September. Staff auditor no internship above market salary :win:, it was hard work though went through at least four interviews :sadcam: before I landed this.

passing the CPA is almost required to move up in public/ private accounting.

also Becker seems to be the best prep for passing all 4 parts

^^ Not really with Becker..really depend on your learning style. Becker cost an arm and a leg. If your company aint paying for it....exploring other options may be the best thing.

From what everyone I know who is an accountant told me, you're not really in the game unless you are a CPA. Most companies won't consider you unless you are at least eligible to sit in for the exams. CMA is the next progression and I think I holds more weight than having an MBA.

CPA is only as important as the field you are trying to be in. CPA is almost useless in government accounting. If you doing internal audit, then your CIA >>> CPA. Etc Etc. CPA is just big in Public Accounting and for upper level positions in Private companies. I know a ton of none CPA holding CFOs at not for profits too.
