What's quickly for fruit? My girl buys 1 bunch of bananas every Sunday which generally has 6 and she eats 1 day and the last one iis about 80-85% edible (bright yellow some brown spots). I don't eat bananas but if I can save $ on it for her then :yeshrug:

I'm a manager at one of these while I'm studying. In Australia but shyt mostly the same. Y'all want some tips just lemme know. And Idk bout the US, but the produce is the same as most other grocery stores. Our private label products are mostly manufactured by the big companies as well.

There's a handful in my area, but I've never been. I need a general consensus on what and what not to fukk with at these stores.

I heard the produce and shyt is lights out, but it doesn't keep long. It's a buy it and use it quickly sort of deal. Besides that, I also heard that pantry shyt (rice, etc.) and snack selection is solid too.

What you heard is true. With the Aldi stimulus you can stock up on all the essentials and actually feel like you got your money's worth.

I generally buy condiments, chicken, fish, and their organic snacks. For around $50 I can get usually fill up an Aldi's canvas bag that lasts me at least a week and a half. I get my salad greens from Publix because the one's from Aldi's don't last.

They had blueberries for .99 cents last week breh. My fridge has never been fuller. The variety is just :ohlawd:

They are owned by the same people as Trader Joes

I work in the grocery industry. Their food, and particularly their meat, is quality as fukk. They cut costs by keeping the stores as basic and thinly staffed as humanly possible. Like they might have half the number of people a regular grocery store has working at any time. It's a good operation. Every time I go I'm like "wait I got all that for THAT????"

So its not pesticide-laden garbage for bargain bin prices? :jbhmm:

I'mma have to check it out.

Thanks for all of the info, brehs. I'm aiming to get to 185 from 150 and Fresh Grocer has been killing me with the prices. There's an Aldi's 2 mins away from my job in super cac neighborhood. I'll give it a shot when I get paid, friday. Plan on going in there with $100 and seeing what's good. :shaq:

You should be alright. Since it's a smaller store with house brands and such you aren't enticed to buy shyt on a whim. They don't have signs that's say "New Product!" And "Limited Time!" Like "Well doritos is probably only have extra cheesy cheetos cheese for a month or so, I'll try it just to seeing what it's like" "coconut creme oreos?"

What's good with the ground beef, chicken breasts, steak, etc?

Chickens are on point. My local aldis beef leaves a lot to be desired. For ground beef or chuck it's great but for I've never bought steaks or other shyt from them because they are garbage.

I have been to Aldi before with an acquaintance and their stuff is low quality imo. That is why it's so cheap.

The raw stuff is bruised and their things expire quickly. They also don't have many popular brands.

.

What type of stuff are you referring to? I usually get the shyt I would from a regular store under a different name and smaller price.

Tortilla chips, raw cashews, raw almonds, raisins, cranberry raisins, sugar, equal packets, Ive bought just add water pancake mix (surprisingly it was piff), I buy granola for cereal, siracha, salt, pepper, hot sauce, some of their other mixed herbs/spices. I buy bran flakes from them and what equates to rice chex and corn chex (their cheerios taste like someone left the box out and open for 2 days) I buy lactaid milk for 1.89, cans of tuna 5oz for .66, tons of different noodles aka fusilli, rotini etc, quinoa, bagged frozen chicken, raw chicken. ive bought their spaghetti sauce...its the standard jar sauce like every other sauce you should be buying mushrooms, garlic and bell pepper fresh and putting it in and its all good. saltines. flour.

I can see how if you want oreos, doritos, froot loops and frozen pizzas how that shyt aint going to work, it wont even work if you have a family unless you raise them off of it but theyll soon learn the difference.i wont buy my toilet paper or soap there. But ive bought trash bags and dishwasher detergent, its legit. Except for avocados where I had to wait 3 days to ripen (I dont know how to pick'em) there produce has been ok. If you buy produce you should be eating within 3-5. A grown ass man doesnt need 20 apples and 15 oranges.

I want to know what people are buying that they dont like.
