I mainly get anxiety because I have made myself believe I have some kind of a heart problem, so whenever I feel my heart beating or have some kind of chest pain it heightens my anxiety. This could easily be relieved by having some heart tests but hey im only 24 with no family heart history :manny:

This all started when I used to smoke weed btw, I honestly feel like I would have never gotten anxiety if I never smoked weed. :ld:

But this is a rarely an issue, I have made anxiety my bytch :obama:

I got treated for a 20 year chronic depression (I'm 31 - In my time I've had the rope in my hand, the knife in my hand, the gasoline and match - always been too much of a fakkit to do it, I guess) with fluoxetine, started out good.

Within about 8 weeks I was dreaming that I was being run over by cars, dreaming about cutting my wrists, waking up at my front door convinced people were going to kill me, dreaming about dying in gas chambers, dreaming about shooting myself in the head. All sorts of stuff.

The suicidal ideation that comes with chronic depression, I guess it manifested itself in my subconscious - having been pushed aside from my conscious state. I reached a point where I legitimately couldn't decipher dreams and reality. Albeit briefly; I had the presence of mind to switch it up. Thankfully.

Anyway, the med in question pushed my anxiety score way up, so I went on sertraline because aside from the quasi-psychosis (which I could sort of manage) I couldn't even send a text message without going into a panic about the reply.

Medication is stigmatized, and in some cases rightfully so. But if you find a good treatment, I'd suggest the side-effects (where manageable) of a decent med are far more desirable than the side effects of depression and anxiety.

I coped for many more years than I had to, with a fairly common problem (especially amongst men). The bump in the road wasn't the worst thing that could have happened, and things are tracking well, now.

I've been diagnosed with GAD.

Used to be on medications but I stopped taking them and just deal with it on my own :yeshrug:

I'm trying this "kava kava candy" for when I have to drive or interact with unfamiliar co-workers.

I used to have it really bad a few years ago. It went away then came back after a car accident that fukked me up for awhile.

It's no joke. I'd feel like shyt for months on end. It's hard trying to explain it to people who don't have it.

Ive had a few panic attacks too and they used to have me like :to: :bryan:.

Hasn't been bad at all lately.

Exercise is so good for this type of thing, too. I train at a boxing gym 3-4 times a week, swim, eat good. Smoke weed on the weekends.

Yeah panic attacks are the worst. Its hard to explain for people who never have them. One time I went to the ER because i was convinced i was having an allergic reaction to a fukkin Z-Pack, a nikka felt like i was getting ready to die. Other times i had them at work and felt like i was having a heart attack, the whole room would spin and my vision get blurry while i could feel my chest tighten up. shyt sucks brehs :to:

I mean if you got anxiety you must have some type of underlying issues.with yourself that surface every now and then or is that not the case for most of you?

Definitely. I've got some mild OCD and body dysmorphia. Most of my clothes don't fit right because I feel like I look one way but I actually look another way. It takes a toll on my confidence. Whenever I'm wearing a tailored suit, tho, I'm the most powerful dude in the world.
