I've tagged you before. I know you and @KyokushinKarateka are/were in Raleigh, then @mpckilla was but just moved or is in the process of moving. Im always willing to meet up with folks and I'm always on the look out. I aint gonna argue with you. I already lost interest.
Race wise I ain't seen a problem the seven years I been down here... I seen plenty of white girls choosing brothas here. As far as nightlife, I can't really speak on it as a married nikka. But the times that I have gone out, looking at it from a NY perspective, had me like . I would rather drive the 8 hours back to NY and party than try to make something happen here.
I mainly came here because it was a better environment to raise my kids in, not because of it being exciting or happening or anything. If you a single dude, I'd encourage you wholeheartedly to go on down to Myrtle Beach for that weekend, or at least hit up Charlotte.
@AdvantageSouthpaw
If you're in tech, you're gonna eat in Raleigh . Get the money , everything else will take care of itself .
For a number of reasons. I'm in San Antonio right now. Moved here from Atlanta for a tech job five years ago. I hate it here for a number of reasons. Time for me to move. I have considered Austin since I have tech contacts here but I also looked at Raleigh. here's why:
-I work in technology as I mentioned. Raleigh has Research Triangle Park. Silicon Valley of the East Coast. RedHat, EMC, Cisco to name a few companies. Plenty of startups too.
-Young city / college town vibe yet you can go to Durham or somewhere and raise a family from what I heard.
-Diverse (more diverse than South Texas. It's mostly Hispanic here, very few blacks)
-Low cost of living. You can stretch your dollar. It has a similar cost of living to San Antonio.
-Four seasons.
-Few hours from Atlanta, few hours from DC. Few hours from the beach & mountains
-More women than men in that area.
-Politically moderate.
Also I've heard great things about Charlotte but it's not on my list at the current moment. I have used this list a lot to help me narrow down even though I work a remote job
Raleigh is high up there for good reason.
Looking to hear more positives and negatives though.
I made a post about Raleigh..
What do you think I already do really well in tech. Just want a good network for my career path and obviously I'm attracted to the fact there's more women than men in the city amongst the other amenities!
Get into the networking groups ... I'd recommend that for any sizeable city where you're not really plugged. Go to the mainstream ones and the minority ones ... the free ones and the pay ones... the young ones and the old ones ... and if you have a side gig , join the city chamber . If the city chamber costs too much join the largest neighboring towns chamber . If you don't come out that bytch with dating and business prospects . ..
Lol I was there yesterday.@MoorMe
@Doobie Doo
If yall hit the African American festival in Raleigh dont cop dashikis from the vendors selling the "Made in Taiwan" joints

There was a group that sold real african garnets out of one of the storefronts though
