The batteries die and the cost a lot to replace

I thought hybrid technology progressed to the point where the batteries last a really long time.

as for the car, if I were getting a compact hybrid, I'd go with the honda civic hybrid or the honda cr-z instead since they look better than that ugly prius.

DON'T BUY ONE. LEASE ONE IF YOU WANT ONE. YOU WILL SAVE THAT MUCH IN GAS. IF YOU JUST GO TO WORK AND HOME YOU MIGHT FILL UP ONCE EVERY 2-3 WEEKS. THE FILL UP WILL RUN YOU ABOUT 12-15 BUCKS. YOU USUALLY GET 450ISH MILES PER FILL UP. YOU CAN FIT 4 GROWN AND A DECENT SIZED CHILD IN THE CAR. STORAGE IS MEH.

THEY SUCK IN HEAVY SNOW. THE LABOR FOR REPAIRS WILL EAT YOU UP.
AN OIL CHANGE WILL BE JUST ABOUT THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO WITHOUT GOING TO THE DEALER/REPUTABLE SHOP FOR REPAIRS.
THE BATTERIES ARE STUPID EXPENSIVE.
YOU WILL BE LAUGHED AT AS A MAN.

You'd be better off driving a Ford Fusion Hybrid if you want retain your manhood and still get good fuel economy though.

wife debated getting this a few years ago, but that fusion hybrid was kinda pricey. she ended up getting a jetta.

and speaking of VW's, you dont have to go hybrid. get a jetta or audi diesel car (TDI). them shyts get hybrid-like mileage and they are still decent looking cars. and the VW TDI's are very reasonably priced.

Thanks for the input. The Kia wasn't even on my radar but now I will look up some prices.

I need to upgrade my car and I'm looking at the Toyota Prius. It gets 45 MPG in the city so it will save me a lot of money. The dudes on my job told me that black people shouldn't buy these but honestly, I just want to save some cash. I wanted to see if anyone here owned one and if they liked it or not.

explain yourself, like right fukking now!!!

Just read that the scion was voted number 1 in reliability this year. I may get a used version of the toyota fr-s in about 2 years. The prius is nice but I want more style. The newer one's do look better than the old one's though. Saw (prius) one at the store and was mildly wowed.
